Accompanied students studying Heroines and Heroes through pop culture tourism, visiting Warner Bros. Studios and sites connected to the course texts. The course asked students to layer media representation against lived encounter with the places that produced it.
The Gambia
Accompanied students to The Gambia, connecting with local community leaders and visiting Kunta Kinteh Island. The course examined how place, memory, and media representation layer into each other at sites of historical trauma.
